FORT COLLINS — Rebecca Everette has been selected as Larimer County’s new community development director, bringing more than 14 years of experience to the job, including more than nine years in several leadership positions working for the city of Fort Collins.
The Board of Larimer County Commissioners made the announcement Wednesday. Everette will succeed Lesli Ellis, who recently was promoted to director of planning, infrastructure and resources.
In Everette’s new post, she will report to Ellis and lead the Community Development Department, which implements the county’s land-use code and manages other land-use matters.
To assume her county duties, she leaves the post of Fort Collins planning manager, which she has held since January 2014. She also worked as Fort Collins’ development-review manager and senior environmental planner. Prior to her Fort Collins role, she worked for both Logan Simpson Design and AECOM Design + Planning as an environmental planner.
“We are so pleased to have Rebecca join Larimer County,” Ellis said in a prepared statement. “She is known for her collaborative and strategic leadership style, excellent communication skills, and her proven expertise in planning and development, policy and code, and meaningful employee and community engagement.”
Everette earned a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University and a master’s in urban and regional planning from the University of Colorado Denver.
